Plant type: rosette with lanceolate leaves Plant color: dark greenish red bright red, red color of young leaves In addition: suitable for beginners, suitable for aquariums over 50 cm Description: Echinodorus 'Berlin' is a new Echinodorus on our market . It appeared in our aquariums either as a result of hybridization or thanks to the efforts of travelers in search of new plants in natural conditions. The leaf plates are ovate with a pointed end, much shorter than the petioles. The leaves are tough, the old leaves are dark green, only an unfolding leaf and possibly even the last young reddish. In an aquarium the plant reaches a height of 40 cm and a width of 20 cm. The leaf plates are about 25 cm long and 5-7 cm wide, the young leaves of this plant grow bright red. The red color of the leaves remains for a long time. Old leaves are brownish green. The rosette is high, but rather loose. With sufficient lighting and a sufficient amount of trace elements, the color of the leaves becomes most intense. The plant needs enough nutritious soil. Echinodorus 'Berlin' is a fairly unpretentious plant that grows quickly and soon turns into a vigorous, large Echinodorus that looks good in an aquarium when planted in its central part or closer to the back wall. Propagated by daughter plants that appear on the flowering shoot.[1]
