Echinodorus Bloody Tourists is a long-standing hybrid from I. Filippov.
An ancient hybrid. I stole the name from the English band "10cc". This is the name of their great album from 1978, Bloody Tourists.
The Echinodorus is so sweet. The leaves are oval 15-20 cm long and up to 10 cm wide. The texture of the leaf is semi-loose, like little bear. The surface is glossy-matt, the color of the young leaves is rich purple-burgundy, the older ones become darker and then turn slightly green. The underside of the leaves is dirty green. The rosette looks rich, it usually holds about 15 leaves. For what it can not be confused with any other: Veins of dirty yellow color, laterally next to the longitudinal length at right angles (I have not seen this on any Echinodorus I know) and at the top of the leaf is not a pipka a kind of thread, but a notch. It only comes out of the water under the influence of a magic pendulum and successfully gives flower shoots under metal halide. If no influence is exerted on it, it will grow quietly under water for years without any claims. Resume on it can be written by amateurs who have it. It is quite common.
Echinodorus Bloody tourists somehow beats out a series of hybrids of I. Filippov with its appearance.
It has almost regular elliptical leaves with an interesting pattern of veins.
The surface of the leaf is shiny, which makes it very difficult to convey the color of young leaves in the photo. And their color is really "bloody", it is difficult to find another name for it, you can only repeat the words of the author himself "rich-purple-burgundy", over time, of course, the color changes, the leaves become more brown.[1]
