The naming of this variety refers to the narrow, long leaves under water. In addition, there is a vivid spot pattern like a python snake. In very good lighting, the youngest leaves are intensely reddish in color. Nutrient-rich substrate and a good CO2 supply allow the plants to grow magnificently. Like most Echinodorus, the plant looks most impressive as a solitary. Care involves only removing older leaves and thinning them out.[1]
