Echinodorus Grüner Panda
Echinodorus Green Panda grows up to 30 cm tall and up to 40 cm wide, leaves heart-shaped with a rounded leaf tip. The main color is green. There are white and yellow spots of various sizes and shapes on the leaf.
Echinodorus panda is a color variant of Echinodorus cordifolia. In general, the plant is not difficult to care for and is recommended for aquarists with some experience in maintaining freshwater aquariums.
Echinodorus green panda is a medium-sized shrub with a height of 40 cm. The leaves are broad, heart-shaped and have pointed tips. Veins are clearly visible on the leaf plate. This plant stands out among other Echinodorus in that discolored spots of different sizes and shapes very often appear on the leaf plate. In addition, no regularity is observed. Adult bushes can be completely without discolored spots on their leaves, and daughter bushes are completely covered with them. The explanation for this is seen in the infection of the bush with the so-called mosaic virus, which manifests itself more or less in different bushes. The plant can take on various shapes which, together with the unusual color of its leaves, can give the interior of the aquarium a unique and somewhat fabulous look.
It is recommended to plant Echinodorus panda bushes in the center of the aquarium. In small aquariums, the plant can be planted in the foreground to make it look larger. When growing other plants next to this bush, you need to choose only those species that are undemanding to lighting, e.g. Echinodorus tender, Anubias nana, etc.).
Water values: 22-28 ° С, hardness dH 4-10 °, acidity pH 6.5-7.5. A weekly exchange of 1/5 of the fresh aquarium water is required. It is advisable to place a few lumps of clay under the roots of the plant. The plant does not require CO2 fertilization.
The plant is undemanding in terms of lighting, but its intensity should be at least 0.3 W / l. The daylight hours are about 10 hours per day. It should be noted that the bushes of Echinodorus panda, in comparison with other species of Echinodorus, do not reach for the light and retain their shape.
