Origin / Breeder : Mikhail Likhachev
Origin: cultivated form Plant type: rosette with lanceolate leaves Plant color: greenish-red, red color of young leaves Additional: suitable for beginners, additional fertilization is recommended, strong lighting Description: Echinodorus 'Izabella' is a cultivated form, we do not know the author of the hybrid. Obtained from a Polish aquarium plant company. Echinodorus 'Izabella' is an interesting plant. In culture it is not very whimsical, water parameters and temperature have little influence on its development and growth rate. But the Echinodorus 'Izabella' is very sensitive to light intensity. Only in very strong light can it produce young leaves that are painted a bright red or red-crimson color. The leaves then turn brown.
Echinodorus Isabella was bred in Russia by Mikhail Likhachev and has predominantly green leaves in the aquarium. Young leaves approx. 30 cm long, slightly wavy edges. In old leaves, the length of the petiole corresponds to the length of the leaf plate.[1]
