Echinodorus Sunset
Origin / Breeder : Tomas Kaliebe, Altlandsberg
Echinodorus 'Sunset' has been in cultivation for a long time, although it has not been widely distributed.
It also appeared in our collection relatively recently. It was presented to us by Edik Montai during his last visit. Moreover, he realized that Echinodorus is rare and asked him to preserve and reproduce it. And here is the result - Echinodorus 'Sunset' - a living memory.
The plant justifies its name by the hue of its leaves. Just as all tones appear muted at sunset, Echinodorus 'Sunset' has a beige - soft - brown color. Young leaves are slightly lighter, old leaves take on a green-brown color. This coloration holds up under medium light intensity. In very bright light, however, a young leaf appears red-crimson.
The rosette of Echinodorus 'Sunset' is compact, with almost all the leaves pointing upwards.
Echinodorus is not small, an adult plant can reach 40 cm.[1]
