Echinodorus Tricolor
Origin / Breeder : Karel Rataj, Czech Republic [1]
Echinodorus Tricolor was bred by Karel Rataj and introduced to the market in 2004. The variety name (tricolor) refers to the different colors that the leaves can take on. The leaf blades are elongated-ovate with a blunt tip, a clearly reduced base and a slightly wavy edge. They grow up to 15 cm long and 8 cm wide. The leaf stalks are relatively long, up to 15 cm.
Young leaves are light green and may even have a pinkish tinge and brownish spots. This variety is quite easy to grow and grows well. It only needs medium light and even sprouts flower stems with adventitious plants in the aquarium.[1]
