The leaf blade of an adult plant is about 4 cm wide and has distinct veins in a lighter shade, forming a pattern common to Echinodorus uruguayensis and Echinodorus horemanii. However, the leaves are stiff, which also confirms that Echinodorus cf. uruguayensis (horemanii) from Itacurubi belongs to the uruguayensis group. Echinodorus cf. uruguayensis (horemanii) from Itacurubi has no special requirements in terms of keeping conditions. However, it develops much faster in the presence of nutrient-rich soil, the supply of micronutrients and carbon dioxide in the water. The adult plant bears a large number of leaves. Under favorable conditions in the aquarium, it can form shoots that later develop into juveniles.[1]
