The leaves have a fairly long, ribbon-like stem. The leaf blade of an adult plant is about 4 cm wide and has distinct veins in a lighter shade, forming a pattern common to Echinodorus uruguayensis and Echinodorus horemanii. However, the leaves are stiff, which also confirms that Echinodorus cf. uruguayensis (horemanii) from Itacurubi belongs to the uruguayensis group. Echinodorus cf. uruguayensis (horemanii) from Itacurubi has no special requirements in terms of keeping conditions.
