Formerly, this grass-like plant was better known as "Echinodorus tenellus". It has been one of the most popular foreground plants for many decades and can rightly be called a classic. In contrast to the pure green growth form 'parvulum', the narrow-leaved growth form turns purple-reddish in good lighting - a beautiful contrast to bright green cushion plants such as Micranthemum tweediei. Cut back vigorously, a dense "grass carpet" forms. In aquascaping, individual shoots can be used to create very fine accents.[1]
